A woman was punched in the face and left with a broken jaw following a vicious attack outside a town centre bar.
The woman, in her 20s, also lost several teeth in the assault.
Detectives are now appealing for information to identify the man and woman in the attached CCTV images in connection with the assault investigation.
Police were called around 3.25am on Friday July 23 after receiving reports a woman had been attacked outside Replay bar in Main Sprit Weind, off Church Street in Preston.
Around 3am the victim, a woman in her 20s, was punched to the face, suffering a broken jaw.
The woman also lost several teeth in the attack.
She was later taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
Following CCTV enquiries police are keen to identify these two people in connection with the investigation.
Det Con Gary Brackley, of Preston CID, said: “This is a police appeal to identify two people following a particularly nasty and unprovoked attack.
“The victim was acting as a peacemaker in a fight between two women when she was assaulted.
"Given the injuries and circumstances of the attack we are urging witnesses to come forward to assist with identifying the individuals responsible.
“We are particularly keen to speak to this man and woman who we believe can assist our enquiries.”
