A DRUNK driver was found asleep at the wheel on St Peters Way in the early hours of the morning by police.
Officers came across the Volkswagen Tiguan in lane two of the A666 at around 4.45am.
The driver was asleep in the car and after being removed from the carriageway she tested positive for alcohol.
Police said: "The driver of a Volkswagen Tiguan thought the A666 St Peters Way was a good place for a nap.
"Found in lane two asleep at the wheel by a divisional patrol.
"She was removed from the carriageway and provided a positive breath sample at the roadside."
At around 1.30am police caught a drug driver in Farnworth.
Police: "We stopped this Vauxhall Astra in Little Lever after reports of possible drug use in Farnworth.
"The driver would fail a roadside drugs test and was arrested."
