A BLACKBURN businessman spoke of his ‘emotion’ after completing a walk in memory of his father who died over a year ago.

Ram Gupta, managing director of Nybble: IT Support Services, based at Capricorn Park, was helping to raise funds for the East Lancashire Hospice by taking part in the Starlight Walk near Pendle Hill.

He also revealed that he completed the walk on July 14, his mum’s birthday, who lost her life in 2013.

Nybble UK is sponsoring the Starlight Walk and Ram said it had an extremely difficult time for everyone in many different ways.

He said: “I won’t lie, it’s been a sad, tough, emotional walk that has brought back memories of all the nearest and dearest that have left us.

“It has been an emotional day for us and we have just completed our walk in memory of my late father who died last May.

“We are not alone in suffering this grief and the pain of losing a loved one.

“For all our friends, families and for those who have lost a loved one, this walk is for you.

“Nothing can replace the loss of a loved one. By doing this walk, you will help the hospice to provide the much-needed end of life care to those who need it the most.”
Ram, who also recently joined the board of governors, at Blackburn College added:

“Let’s remember, millions of people who go to bed every night, don’t wake up in the morning.

“So, every morning when we wake up, let’s enjoy it and make it memorable. After all, we are just an accumulation of what we consume and experience. Memories are eternal.”

He also urged others to get involved and raise funds for the hospice. “This year the walk is virtual so we can all get involved. All you need to do is plan your walk, make a donation to the hospice and upload your pictures.”
