Two people had to be rescued after becoming stuck in mud on one of the hottest days of the year so far.
At 12.47pm on Monday, two fire engines from St Annes and Penwortham along with the air support unit from Chorley were sent to East Beach in Lytham St Annes.
With assistance from the coastguard, two people were rescued from the mud using inflatable walkways.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "At 12.47pm on June 19, two fire engines from St Annes, Penwortham and the air support unit from Chorley attended an incident in at East Beach, Lytham St Annes.
"Two mud units from the coastguard attended, with fire service personnel assisting the coastguard in rescue operations.
"Two casualties were rescued from the mud using inflatable walkways.
"Crews were at the scene for around ninety minutes."
Community protection manager for the fire service, Liam Wilson said on Twitter: "Great multi-agency working this afternoon with @LancashireFRS @NWAmbulance and @LythamCG all working together to rescue two adults who became stuck in mud at Lytham.
"Please take care near water and in locations you are not familiar with."
