Radcliffe Athletic Club’s Neil Greenhalgh has been a busy man clocking up the miles as he finished his second marathon in less than a week.
Running with his mum Julia, a member of Prestatyn Running Club, he completed the scenic Ladybower Trail Marathon in the Peak District in 5 hours 17 minutes and 31 seconds.
Just five days earlier,Greenhalgh clocked 4:14:06 and a top 50 finish in the Lakeland Trails Marathon around Coniston Water.
The Radcliffe Athletic Club team of Iain Harris, Bev Quinton and Mike Scott ran the equivalent distance of Land’s End to John O’Groats.
They received medals and T-shirts after notching up 874 between them in the Virtual LEJOG Challenge.
The team – named the Radcliffe AC Irregulars – started the challenge in January and finished at the end of May, doing a mixture of solo and group runs.
Meanwhile, Vince Ashton went above and beyond when he did the Kiss Goodbye to MS May 50k challenge in aid of MS research.
People have to cover the distance during May but Ashton, who has MS which causes him to have seizures, made the challenge extra hard: he pushed himself to the limit by running 74k and walking 63k to raise £196.
