LANCASHIRE locals are lucky enough to have some gorgeous countrysides and scenic views right on their doorsteps in the county.

To celebrate the longest day of the year and 2021’s summer solstice, we have compiled a list of the very best places to watch the sunset in Lancashire.

Even if the cloud coverage is too intense today, you can still visit these great spots once the weather clears up and the sun is back out.

Here are five great places to watch the sunset in Lancashire:

  1. Pendle Hill

Once you manage to scale the daunting Pendle Hill, you can enjoy wide-spread views over Lancashire.

On  a clear day, you can see as far as Blackpool Tower but even when it’s overcast you can still enjoy views over Colne, Nelson, Padiham, Pendle and Burnley.

It’s the perfect place to watch the sun sink into the countryside hills.

  1. Jubilee Tower, Darwen

One Trip Advisor user visited on a clear day in 2019 and only had positive things to say about the views.

They wrote: “I really enjoyed the views and the welcoming breeze at the top.

“You can see various reservoirs and India Mill in Darwen and just down the hill is Sunnyhurst with a nice pub for refreshments.”
