Fire crews were sent to tackle a blaze at the back of a property close to a town's council buildings on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters from Clitheroe, Great Harwood and Hyndburn attended the premise on Railway View Avenue, close to the Ribble Valley Borough Council offices in Clitheroe just after 7am.
The fire had started in an outdoor timber shed and according to crews had spread to the building.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Three fire engines from Clitheroe, Great Harwood and Hyndburn tackled a fire involving a commercial premises on Railway View Avenue in Clitheroe.
"The fire was in the rear yard of the property and had spread to the building.
"Crews put the fire out using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel.
"They also used a thermal imaging camera to check for signs of fire spread."
It is thought that the building only suffered superficial smoke damage and was not affected directly by the timber shed fire.
Fire crews remained at the scene until 8.52am, damping down and making the scene safe.
