A POPULAR Indian restaurant has been refurbished and has launched new takeaway and delivery services.

Anarkali Indian restaurant is a family-run business in the old Farmers Glory pub building on Roundhill Road, Haslingden.

Staff hope the new services will help expand the venue’s customer base.

Owner Yasin Ali and Naz Islam, who has recently taken over management of the restaurant, started the new services on Sunday, having already begun to welcome back sit-down diners with the easing of lockdown last month.

Mr Islam said: “We’re Lancashire’s premier Indian restaurant serving only the finest Indian food in the area and we can’t wait to see you all back. We’re now taking bookings for Father’s Day and orders on our app too.”

Anarkali was recently awarded a five star hygiene rating and as well as the refurbishment has put measures in place to ensure that diners are safe from Covid infections.

Lockdown has been particularly challenging for restaurants all across the country but particularly in Lancashire’s boroughs which have been hit hard by the pandemic.

For long periods of the last year and a half, restaurants saw their ability to trade severely restricted while customers missed out on visiting their favourite venues.

However, since the easing of restrictions earlier in the spring, Mr Ali and Mr Islam have been able count on a dedicated customer base returning.

They hope that regular and new customers alike will be impressed with the new refurbishment and that they will make regular use of the new delivery and takeaway options.

The deliveries will serve a three-mile radius of the restaurant, while the menus also include vegetarian, vegan Halal and gluten free options.
