ACCRINGTON Stanley Football Club have agreed a new three-year deal with Clayton Park Bakery, allowing fans to feast on a locally produced pie until 2024.

The award-winning Clayton-le-Moors based bakery have been supplying pies and other savoury baked goods to fans at the Wham Stadium since 2019 – winning the hearts of Stanley supporters and becoming something of a matchday staple.

Daniel Bowerbank, Commercial Manager at Accrington Stanley, said: “We love Clayton Park Bakery, and so does everyone here.

“It’s been a challenging year with no fans and I know the pies are an essential part of the matchday experience so it’s great that the pies we sell at the Wham Stadium are made and eaten locally.”

The bakery also supply their matchday goods to Liverpool, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Rochdale, Wigan Athletic and Preston North End – utilising Lancashire produce and suppliers, with all ingredients cooked and prepared on-site.

Mark Ashworth, Key Account Manager at Clayton Park Bakery, said: “We’re proud to be supplying our pies to Accrington Stanley Football Club. We’re looking forward to fans coming back and another three successful years working together.”

The Lancashire family business has enjoyed a sharp rise in popularity since opening as a Blackburn market stall in 1995, with particular thanks to its football following.

By 2001, the company were enjoying such an increase in demand that they began hiring more staff, moved to a larger Clayton-le-Moors premises and weren't only delivering to the family market stall but also had a diverse range of customers throughout the North West.

It was in 2006 that they secured major catering contracts with Everton, Burnley and Rochdale football clubs - and have never since looked back.
