A CROWDFUNDING page has been set to help pay for the funeral of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Great Lever in the early hours of today.
Police were called to Walker Avenue at around 4.45am to reports of a stabbing.
Reece Tansey was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.
A large police cordon was set up around Walker Avenue and surrounding roads, with residents left in shock.
Following his death, tributes have flooded in for Reece and now a crowdfunding page has been launched to help his family pay for his funeral.
Reece has been described as a "fun, caring and kind boy with a heart of gold".
The crowdfunding page reads: "We have created this fund page to help towards paying for Reece's funeral cost.
"Early hours on 4th May, Reece who was 15-years-old, was taken violently from us by being stabbed.
"Reece was a fun, caring and kind boy with a heart of gold. He didn't deserve this.
"As you can expect, Reece's parents are truly heartbroken, and we as a family, decided to set up this page so they do not have to worry about funeral costs, etc.
"If you can help in any way at all we would be eternally grateful.
"Thank you. Lets give this boy a send off he deserves."
