BOLTON town centre was hit by a massive hail storm this afternoon, leaving residents checking their calendars.
The aftermath of the storm left Le Mans Crescent with a Lapland-like look as pedestrians passed at around 6pm.
The unseasonal weather follows a cold day in the borough where temperatures have dropped as low as 3 degrees Celsius and there have been regularly downpours.
Tomorrow, the temperature is expected to remain cold with a high of 10 degrees and a low of 2 degrees, according to the Met Office.
But the chances of rain on Wednesday are much lower with sunny spells expected.
