ONE of the most popular features with readers has been our occasional look back at pubs in East Lancashire which have sadly disappeared.

We have been back into the archive to unearth this gallery of Blackburn pubs which once were an integral part of life in the town.

The dates which appear alongside them show when each photograph was taken.

Some of them disappeared quite a long time ago while others were more recent casualties of redevelopment, supermarket competition and changing lifestyles.

Hopefully these will bring back some fond memories for those of you who may have spent a night or two at the bar of one of these traditional hostelries.

If you have any photographs of East Lancashire pubs which have disappeared over the years or particular memories of pubs gone by we'd love to share them with Looking Back readers.
