NO further coronavirus-related deaths were recorded at the Royal Bolton Hospital today, figures have revealed.

NHS England data shows that 647 people have died at the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

Across the UK, 11 deaths linked to the virus have been reported in the last day. A total of 127,428 people have now died in Britain within 28 days of a positive death.

In the last 24 hours, a further 19 new cases in Bolton have been logged with an extra 1,712 recorded in the UK, although figures in Scotland have not been included in the statistics.

There were 136 new cases in the borough in the week up to April 20. On that date, the rate per 100,000 people in Bolton who had Covid-19 was 47.3, less than the UK average of 24.7.
