BUSINESSES and organisations from around Bolton are backing the She Inspires Awards as this year they go global for the first time.

Award-winning Jackie Hyde, managing director of Stanmore Insurance in Little Lever, which is the awards’ headline sponsor, is also a former winner.

“I first got involved in the awards as a nominee in 2018 and it was a wonderful experience,” she explained. “I met lots of inspirational women and I was delighted to win Business Woman of the Year.

“Since then, I have been a keen supporter of them as I know first-hand what effect they have on both the individual and their organisation.

“As women, we often shy away from broadcasting our wins and success. The only way we are going to change this is to start celebrating what fantastic achievements are taking place. The She Inspires Awards are a great way to put yourself on the map.”

Shauna Morton, head of community investment at Bolton at Home, which is an event partner, said: “We got involved in the awards because they are about the people who live in Bolton and its community.

“The awards highlight the work they do and, for many smaller organisations, their contribution to society.”

The University of Bolton, also an event partner and, like Bolton at Home, an enduring supporter for the awards since they began six years ago.

The university’s Provost Zubair Hanslot said: “It’s incredibly important that women are recognised and celebrated for the brilliant contributions they make in all walks of life and these awards do just that.

“It’s wonderful news that this year they are going global. We look forward to collaborating and hearing the inspirational stories from great women from all over the world”

Maura Jackson, CEO of charity BACKUP North West, a Gold Sponsor, said: “We are proud to again sponsor these awards as this is a magnificent way to spotlight amazing women and highlight the inspiring things they achieve for themselves and others.

“To be part of this movement year after year is a joy. Involvement with such a high-profile event is also always valuable exposure for an organization like ours that works so hard behind the scenes.”

This year’s event has 18 categories – six of them open globally – and will be held at Bolton Whites Hotel on November 25. To nominate individuals click here.
