EMERGENCY services are at the scene after a 17-year-old has been stabbed.
An air ambulance landed on the grounds of St. Barnabas School and St. Paul's Primary School off Oakenhurst Road, after reports of the stabbing.
The teenager suffered a single stab wound to the back but it is not thought to be life-threatening.
The incident happened after 5.30pm this evening (April 20) off Wensley Road. Arthur Street at the bottom of Lawrence Street had been cordoned off with police officers still at the scene.
A spokesman for Police said: "We were called to Lawrence Street, Blackburn, at 5.42pm to reports of an assault.
"Officers attended and found a 17-year-old boy had been stabbed in Wensley Road. He suffered a single stab wound to the back but his injuries are not thought to be serious."
No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing.
