AN award-winning sport rehabilitator and physiotherapist who opened a clinic at her home during lockdown is thrilled to be ‘booked up for the next three-and-a-half weeks’.
Mother-of-two Judith Firth, 40, who owns JB MSK Manual Therapies on Thorns Close, Astley Bridge, officially opened her new premises on Saturday April 17 with a celebrity guest, Bolton Wanderers legend David Lee.
The professional clinic has been converted from the house's old garage, and looks exactly like what you would see in a hospital.
She previously worked for the NHS Trust for 13 years in different community departments, including rheumatology and podiatry - and also spent time working pitchside with Bolton Wanderers’ academy - providing treatments, prescribing exercises and conducting first aid.
Judith offers injury-based services including soft tissue massages and acupuncture, and is also a qualified Pilates instructor.
The University of Bolton graduate, who won an award for excellence while she studied, said: "During the pandemic, I was unable to work when my children were off school - so I applied to the council to see if I could work from home.
"It will save so much money on petrol - and it means I only have a 10-second commute.
"I'm so happy to have David here helping to open my clinic. He was always my favourite player."
Mr Lee said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony: "Judith puts so much passion and enthusiasm into everything she does, and always works hard.
"I’m very excited to watch her progress in this next step of her career."
