Police have warned off-road bikers that if they are caught riding in beauty spots or public places where people go to walk, their bikes will be seized.

Officers in Chorley have recently been made aware of an increase in off road motorbikes being used in the area of Cuerden Valley Park.

Cureden Valley Park is a working estate with parkland and farmland, and was formerly the grounds of Cuerden Hall.

It is used regularly by dog walkers and the use of such bikes is strictly forbidden.

PC Seddon from the neighbourhood team said: "I would like to remind people that the use of off-road bikes in Cuerden Valley is strictly prohibited.

"It's a local beauty spot where people go to walk their dogs or go out as a family and the use of these bikes are a danger to the public.

"Be warned it's a Section 59 area so we will seize these bikes."

If you see anyone riding these bikes and it's safe to do so take a photograph or a video and send it to Opseizure@lancashire.police.uk and police will try to identify those responsible.
