THE driver of a vehicle trying to get away from police patrols crashed into a concrete pillar.
Officers from Burnley and Padiham Police neighbourhood team managed to recover the car but the occupants ran away from the scene.
PC Paul Marsden from Burnley Police said: "This vehicle has been travelling around tonight making off from police patrols, when sighted in Burnley the driver attempted to get away.
"The occupants clearly were not local and decided to turn down a blocked off street crashing into a concrete pillar.
"Unfortunately the occupants made off prior to patrols getting to the vehicle.
"It would appear from what was inside the vehicle the occupants were over in Lancashire upto no good after finding equipment used to commit crime. Vehicle recovered and (taken) off the streets."
