The data compares year-on-year buyer searches to see which specific areas have seen an peak in interest in recent months.

Across Bolton as a whole, buyer searches have increased by 136%.

If you are a buyer, or are just nosey about the local property market, then here are some of the most popular places to move to:

1. Kearsley

Annual increase in buyer searches: 147%

According to the Rightmove data, Kearsley is one of the most sought after Bolton area for prospective buyers right now.

It’s home to some popular restaurants and attractions such as The Hare and Hounds pub and it isn’t far from Clifton Country Park.

According to Zoopla the average price paid for a house here is £148,393 and the value of properties has increased by 4.3% in the last year.

2. Over Hulton

Annual increase in buyer searches: 147%

In joint first is Over Hulton.

The average house price here is £237,996- which is £60,426 higher than the average property price in Bolton.

3. Farnworth

Annual increase in buyer searches: 126%

Do you live in Farnworth? If so, you are living in the third most sought after Bolton town.

The average price paid for a house in Farnworth is currently £128,368- which is more than £49,000 cheaper than the average house price across Bolton as a whole.

While here, make sure to pay a visit to Farnworth Little Theatre.

4. Bradshaw

Annual increase in buyer searches: 121%

The average price paid for a house in this village is £226,944 and the value of properties in this area has increased by more than four per cent in recent months.

5. Horwich

Annual increase in buyer searches: 120%

This town has a long industrial history and has been the base of the Bolton Wanderers football club since 1997.

If football-lovers want to move to this sought-after Bolton Borough town, then the average property price right now is £196,032.

6. Blackrod

Annual increase in buyer searches: 112%

This town was once a centre for coal mining.

It’s home to The Cherry Tree at Blackrod which was named Bolton’s best restaurant in 2019.

Want to move here? The average house price is currently £171,208.

7. Westhoughton

Annual increase in buyer searches: 110%

This may be the last area on the list- but buyer searches for this area have still increased by 110 per cent in the last 12 months.

It was once a centre for coal mining and textile manufacturer; in the modern day it is a sought after town consisting of a number of villages and hamlets.

The average house price here is £180,685.
