A CHARITABLE organisation which sells second hand clothes firm picked Bolton Hospice raised an incredible £1,500 for the good cause.

Saving threads sells pre-loved clothes to help reduce waste and support local charities with the proceeds.

The charitable venture was set up by Rachel Craven and Leander Moore to help local charities through lockdown restrictions and the challenges faced during the pandemic.

Rachel and Leander said: “We started saving threads in November during lockdown alongside working as a teacher (Leander) and a manger within NHS (Rachel) as something to do in our spare time (we like to keep busy). We’ve been best friends since we met over 4 years ago after having our children and thought why not start a new venture helping local charities. We both love rummaging through clothes and after selling some of our own items on eBay we thought let’s do this for charity. During lockdown we were aware a lot of people had items they wanted to donate so thought let’s do this and after Christmas things seem to really take off.

"We are trying to support local charities and Bolton Hospice is a charity lots of people who have donated clothes had recommended needed support, we are so thankful for the amazing job they do and we really wanted to raise what we could to help the hospice."

"We really enjoy what we do for saving threads and have been overwhelmed by the support we have received locally too with lots of people happy to donate their unwanted clothing and accessories. Saving threads is a hobby we both love and we are so happy we are able to support local charities too.”
