MORE tributes have been paid to a man who had 'a heart of gold' after his death this week.

Kyeran Morrison, landlord of the Blackburn Times pub on Northgate, was found dead on Tuesday evening.

Close friend Tom Linklater said he was heartbroken by the news and had happy memories of Kyeran.

The 36-year-old said: "Kyeran was a person who would help anybody and in any circumstances he would even give the shirt off his back to help them.

"He was massively into his power-lifting and bodybuilding and we travelled around the world doing competitions and went to the British Finals in 2019 where I was third and he was fourth.

"Training together was great and we were quite close.

"To look at him, he was 21 stone, had tattoos and was six-foot tall but it goes to show people should not judge as he had a heart of gold.

"He took time out of his day to help people in Blackburn and always spoke to people in the street and gave homeless people a snack."

Tom added that they had known each other for seven years and met when they worked at the old Retro bar as doormen.

"When you are working on the door you get to put trust in someone to do a job.

"He was landlord at The Blackburn Times and did well there.

"The community is in massive shock about his death and all the tributes on Facebook shows how much he touched hearts and affected lives.

"He also had a wicked sense of humour too."

Leon Kelly from Level One club in Darwen said: "Kyeran worked at Level One Darwen since 2014.

"He was one of our longest serving door supervisors and he was well loved by all the staff and the customers.

"He always joined in with the workplace banter and was part of our family.

"It was devastating to hear the news this week especially as I was speaking to him last Wednesday about him returning to work for us and how his preparations were going to re-open his bar and he was in normal good spirits.

"Kyeran was one of these guys who would do anything to help anyone and it’s a great loss to his family and friends."

The Blackburn Times underwent a major £150,000 revamp almost two years ago, but was forced to close last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
