A DRIVER has been arrested after being caught speeding and failing a roadside breathalyser test.

The driver was caught by Greater Manchester Police officers in Hulton Lane, Bolton earlier today.

They also provided a positive roadside breath test, with a reading of 47.

In the UK, 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath is the limit, putting the driver more than twice over it.

The driver's MOT had also expired in November 2020, while their speed - 39mph - was over the 30mph limit for Hulton Road.

They were subsequently arrested for drink driving and taken into custody in Swinton.

The incident was reported on Greater Manchester Police's Traffic Twitter account.

The post said: "#XT14 is out doing #SpeedEnforcement on Hulton Lane Bolton.
