TRAFFIC police arrested the driver of a Volkswagen on Topp Way in the early hours of the morning after they failed a drugs test.
Officers stopped the car as they were concerned about the way it was being driven, but they discovered that the car smelt strongly of cannabis.
The driver subsequently tested positive for cannabis and was arrested and taken to Swinton custody.
Police said: "Officers from GMP SCIU (serious collision investigation unit) stopped this vehicle due to their manner of driving on Topp Way, Bolton.
"Vehicle smelt strongly of cannabis.
"Driver tested positive for cannabis and arrested S5A.
"En route to Swinton custody."
