FORECASTERS are predicting a very cold day in Bolton with temmperatures set to dip as low as -3C.

Gritters will be out on the roads in the town and forecasters say it could snow between 2pm and 4pm.

BBC forecasters are saying there is a chance of light snow showers and light winds this afternoon.

Bolton awoke to a decent amount of snow coverage yesterday.

But it was a marked difference to the wind, rain and snow earlier this week as Storm Christoph battered the region.

The Met Office has also warned that snow and ice may cause travel disruption tonight this weekend.

The Met Office website says: "Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, increasing the likelihood of accidents and injuries.

"Some roads and railways likely to be affected by snowfall, with longer journey times by car as well as bus and train services."
