A BUSINESS owner has vented his disgust after used nappies were dumped on his site's car park and people were caught appearing to urinate there.

UK Plaster moved from its base on Chorley New Road in Horwich to Dixon Street last year.

But since then, the bespoke plaster manufacturer, whose customers include royalty and Elstree Studios, has faced a barrage of anti-social behaviour problems.

Following the arrival of the first national lockdown, owner Graham Hope noticed signs of gatherings near his business as beer cans were often left dumped nearby.

He had a CCTV system installed to improve its security and in the coming months he was shocked to see what the video footage captured.

Vile items of rubbish such as used nappies were discarded on its car park – which vehicles use as a cut-through road – and people were caught appearing to urinate.

Mr Hope, 63, said: "Since we got the cameras installed in July we have seen people leaving used nappies and pizza boxes and urinating in the road.

"When I first saw what was happening I was disgusted I could not believe what I was watching on the video. What they were doing was terrible.

"These people are just disregarding the area.

"I was also embarrassed for them as it showed the standards that some people are living in, you cannot have a life where you are throwing nappies around.

"Someone has also sprayed graffiti with the writing 'sinner' on our front double door and a back fire door."

The situation has escalated to the point where Mr Hope is thinking of blocking off entry to the car park.

Mr Hope added: "We own the land and I have had no problem with people driving through, but we have come to a point when we are going to have to seal it off from cars coming through as people have abused it."

Mr Hope has reported incidents to the police.
