JAMIE CHADWICK, aged 22, of Cross Lane Radcliffe, has been jailed for life and told he will spend at least 18 years behind bars after he was found guilty of murdering his partner's one-year-old daughter Orianna Crilly-Cifrova. He claimed the child had fallen down steps at their flat but a jury was told that the severe injuries she suffered could have been caused by being swung against a wall. Chadwick also tried to blame the child's mother, Chelsea Crilly, who was cleared of allowing the death of a child.

CRAIG MOSSOP, aged 51, of Hartington Road, Bolton, was jailed for nine years after he killed a 50-year-old nurse Susan Jackson and badly injured another man by dangerous driving. Drunk former soldier Mossop was driving a Landrover without working brakes when he struck Mrs Jackson at 52mph and carried on, hitting Mr Devaney.

HASSANAIN GHAZI, aged 22, of Arnside Grove, Bolton was jailed for two years and six months after he admitted robbing a student of his wireless headphones in Bolton town centre.

SIMON DAVIES, aged 47, of Portugal Street, Bolton, and MARK JOHNSON, of Duke Street, Bolton, both pleaded guilty to burgling a grieving widow's home. Davies received a 40 month prison sentence and Johnson was jailed for 35 months.

ANTONY BURROUGH, aged 38, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 16 months in prison after he terrorised his parents, breaching restraining orders to repeatedly turn up at their home and demand money.

WARREN BAINES, aged 49, of Crook Street, Bolton, raped a woman and was found guilty following a trial. Baines, who has previous convictions for violence and drugs offences, was jailed for 10 years.

MOHAMMED SUMAN, aged 34, was branded "dangerous" by a judge after he admitted raping a 12-year-old girl. He was jailed for eight years in addition to the eight year sentence he is already serving for raping a 15-year-old.

JORDAN BALSHAW, aged 22, of Ripon Close, Radcliffe, has been given a 27 month prison sentence after he was caught drug dealing.
