Officers from all of Bolton's policing teams conducted speed checks across the borough yesterday.

The Bolton North, South, and West neighbourhood policing teams visited various roads in Bolton after concerns raised by residents over speeding, with some fatal incidents recently.

More than 15 drivers were stopped and reported for travelling above the speed limit on the day, according to police.

A number of other drivers were also stopped for obstructing the police by flashing their headlights at other cars to warn them about the police speed check.

Police also described how at one sight a 15-year-old boy travelling in a taxi threw a full drinks cup at officers when driving past.

The taxi was stopped with the boy taken home by police where he will be "dealt with" through 'restorative justice' for assaulting an emergency worker, according to police.
