AN APPEAL is underway after a Ribble Valley business was targeted for the fourth time in two weeks this Thursday.

Bowland Bioenergy Limited, a company specialising in producing woodchip fuel, say that their site in Grindleton, Ribble Valley was first broken in to last week and then again November 23, while their site in Downham was burgled twice on in one day on Thursday 26.

The first two burglaries saw building equipment including a concrete mixer stolen while the most recent theft saw a digger grapple worth £3,500 stolen, each believed to have been stolen by the same group of burglars.

A company director said: "Any information from the public would be hugely appreciated.

"We specialise in producing woodchips and bio fuel and without the equipment we're unable to do this.

"We know that with Covid times are hard for everyone but this just isn't fair."

CCTV captured by the company after the most recent burglary shows a white Peugeot Expert van with a roof rack drive into the yard and then leave six minutes later.

By the time the van was gone, so was the digger grapple.

Other sites in the area have also been hit recently, possibly by the same burglars, with Salesbury Cricket Club reporting the theft of a leaf blower from its premises.

Police are currently investigating, while Bowland Bioenergy are encouraging anyone who may have any information or who may have been targeted themselves to get in touch.
