POLICE have issued warnings after a flurry of burglaries in Lowton and Golborne.

Officers called for vigilance and for people to do what they can to deter break-ins.

In a statement on November 20, the Golborne and Lowton neighbourhood Team said: "There have been a number of Break ins around the area and these are possibly linked to offenders coming and scouting the area looking for targets. The breaks have occurred around 4 to 6 pm and the houses were all in darkness.

"As the nights draw in, think about timers and connected switches so you can program them to come on before you come home.

"We have been given the areas extra attention during this time".

On Tuesday, police issued another statement reagrding the matter.

It added: "There have been a small number of burglaries in the Lowton and Golborne areas recently.

"Please remember, do not leave your valuables on display, set your burglar alarm, and if you have CCTV, ensure it is in working order.

"Do everything you can to deter."
