A NEW travel agent has set up a home-working operation as part of a nationwide network.

Jemma Kelly, who has journeyed around the world herself, has become a member of Travel Counsellors, an independent tourism firm.

Using her previous experience in the travel industry, Jemma has set up operations at her home in Tottington.

She said: "I am delighted to launch my business with Travel Counsellors and support the people of Bury and the surrounding areas with their leisure travel requirements.

“Using their technology, I can search through thousands of travel options for my customers and create tailor-made travel experiences based on their personal preferences.

"Being available during the evenings and weekends means my customers can speak to me at a time that suits them and running my own business from home means I can take the time to get to know them personally.

"I think my customers really value the personal, caring service and attention to detail I offer through running my business with Travel Counsellors, providing tailored travel experiences you can’t get online.”

One of the advantages of their approach, says the firm, is that agents are able to work flexibly around the needs of their customers, including being contactable during the evenings and weekends.

The wider network she is now a part of is 1,900 strong, based in seven countries around the world, also including Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Australia and the UAE

The firm was named best national travel retailer in the 2019 British Travel Awards and the best homeworking agency at the Travel Agent Weekly Achievement Awards. And the outfit, which had a turnover of £262m according to an annual reports, was presented with the 2018 growing business of the year gong at the Amazon Growing Business Awards.
