RESTAURANTS have been forced to close because of the second lockdown.

That’s why we are supporting our local businesses to help them promote their takeaway menus and help them along the way.

The Spread Eagle in Mellor is a popular restaurant and usually fully-booked at the weekends.

The Spread Eagle is a family owned freehouse situated in the Ribble Valley with stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

Owners Lesley and Stuart, along with a dynamic kitchen team led by head chef Joshua George said they will look forward to seeing their loyal customers back soon.

How will the restaurant run now?

When we aren’t locked down The Spread Eagle caters for celebrations, family meals, a quick light lunch or indeed for a drink from a vast selection of cask ales, premium lagers, wines and cocktails.

For now takeaways are available ordering only through Facebook Messenger, an up to date menu can be found by visiting the restaurant’s website.

Bookings of four people and under are being taken for December 2 onwards and can be made online.

Staff at the restaurant have advised people to collect their food as requested.
There will be designated bays on the car park and your food will be brought out to you.

Cash in an envelope is the way to pay for your food.

What’s on the menu?

There’s a reduced menu for the time being and a separate menu on a Sunday.Starters include Teriyaki duck leg and pancakes with a chilli, spring onion and cucumber garnish.

The classic pub plates are still on the menu including an 8oz fillet steak along with chicken katsu curry and rice or battered haddock with chips and mushy peas.

Desserts for two include sticky toffee pudding with a butterscotch sauce. Visit www.thespreadeaglemellor.com.
