AS the second lockdown of this year looms the online sales of a local gin will soar.

According to the owners of Cuckoo Gin, customers will take advantage of the company’s free local delivery and enjoy their favourite tipple from home.

A new gin that has been concocted recently, Sloe Down Gin, is expected to go down well when we are locked down according to Tom Fitzpatrick, brand development manager at Cuckoo Gin.

He said: “The Sloe Down Gin was invented following on from the first lockdown. It is a sloe gin with locally sourced ingredients.

“We want people to enjoy the gin, to take a step back and slow down, to enjoy what they should be doing in life and live a more relaxed life.”

Ingredients for the new product are handpicked, including fresh and juicy gaultheria berries from Rivington.

 Lancashire Telegraph: Sloe

The award-winning Cuckoo Gin is made at Brindle Distillery, Holmes Farm and all bottles are handcrafted with dedicated care and passion.

The family-run business means that the gin is handcrafted from start to finish.

All of the raw materials that go into making the spirits either come directly from the farm or are locally sourced and there is a natural spring delivering fresh spring water to the distillery which is used in the distillation.

The Cuckoo’s Nest is popular with customers, a distillery bar based on the farm, where you can taste all cuckoo gins and spirits.

Tom added: “We will be sad to close the Cuckoo’s Nest once again because of the pandemic but we are certain that the sales of gin will rise as bars and restaurants close.

“Luckily we have a fantastic support network locally and nationally.

“At times like this we have to appreciate our supporters and followers who are regular and loyal customers, that makes a huge difference to a local business.”

Cuckoo Gin can be bought in places such as the Whalley Wine Shop, Holmes Mill and Booth’s in Clitheroe.

Online sales are popular and the firm offers free delivery.

Tom said: “Thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped make it happen. Stay safe and cheers to you all.”
