Woman found dead in home after emergency service called to house fire
AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a woman died in a house fire.
The emergency services were called to an address on Highfield Avenue in Burnley at around 4.10pm on Saturday after firefighters had attended to reports of a fire.
The police have now confirmed that an investigation has been launched after a woman, in her 80s, was found dead inside the address.
A spokesman said: “We are working with our colleagues at LFRS in a joint investigation to establish the cause of the fire.
The woman’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad and distressing time.”
