A GRIEVING son has urged people to tell their families they love them after the shock death of his father.

Salman Natha's heart-wrenching message was issued on Saturday night, just hours after his father Yakub suddenly died inside his home on Cedar Street in Blackburn
Emergency services, including the police and paramedics were called at shortly after 8am to the home, but Yakub Natha was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Initially the police launched an investigation into the circumstances of Mr Natha's shock death but later confirmed they had no reason to believe any suspicious activity has taken place.

Now Salman has urged people to tell their loved ones how much they mean to them in a heartbreaking tribute to his father.

A statement read: “It breaks my heart to say this but today my father Yakub Musa Natha has sadly left this world for the afterlife.

"He was my best friend and he worked harder than anybody I knew. He was working everyday to make sure food was on the table.

“He loved his family the was always happy and making everybody laugh.

"He was the joker of the house. I couldn’t imagine living in a world without him this was my biggest fear of losing my parents.”

The message adds, “If you have parents with you now tell them you love them because death is always around the corner. Today it was my dad that was taken tomorrow it can be someone else’s so just want to say one thing – love your parents.

“But all we can do now is pray for him so I also every person who reads this can you recite three times durood Shareef and Fateha for my dad Yakub Musa Natha.”

Hundreds have since paid tribute to the Blackburn dad, including in comments on the Lancashire Telegraph's website and social media pages.

One reader said: "You will be missed - a true gentleman."

Another added: "Yakub was such a lovely guy. Always joking around and making sure he made your day. He will be sadly missed by many people. A tragic loss to the community.

A police statement read, “Earlier this afternoon, we posted a message about the sudden death of a man at an address on Cedar Street, Blackburn, this morning.

“We know there has been some concern in the local community and so we would like to give you an update. We can confirm that following our enquiries, the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

“We have informed his family and our thoughts remain with them at this incredibly sad time.”
