For the first time in 25 years Blackburn’s Faz Patel won’t be able to help vulnerable residents change their clocks due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Faz has been helping hundreds of people change their clocks, putting them forward in the spring and back in the winter.

He said: “After 25 years it’s the first time I won’t able to go down and change clocks for those people in town who struggle to change them.”

Since March and the lockdown Faz has been supporting the wider community with food parcels and help with their shopping. During the evenings and weekends he also dedicated his time talking to people who live alone.

He said: “I met Annie a few years ago when she rang me for help to change her clocks, she said her late husband left my number and article from the Lancashire Telegraph before he died if she needed help and that’s how I got to know her.

"My message to everyone is keep in touch with your friends and those elderly people as we need to reach out during these tough times."
