ONE of the borough's top indie shops has been mentioned in the House of Commons.
Bury South MP Christian Wakeford highlighted his constituency's proud trading tradition at Prime Minister's Questions.
Radcliffe-based The Only Way Is Melts won the overall prize in his annual independent shops competition, as voted for by residents.
And Slattery's, Village Greens and Ainsworth Road Butchers scooped runners-up gongs.
Mr Wakeford said: "Levelling up must mean regenerating our high streets and town centres and independent shops are at the heart of this. Independent shop owners play a vital role in making our towns and villages vibrant places."
