A TWO-CAR crash took place overnight on a busy Blackburn junction.

Videos and photographs have been posted about the incident on Whalley New Road and Plane Street in Blackburn at around 12.45am.

It is believed the incident involved a Silver Lexus and a Black Golf.

One local business owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It was a very bad and shocking incident and I hope that the people in the car are not badly injured."

Another passer-by who heard the crash said: "We heard a loud bang and a lot of commotion and went out to see what was happening.

"It was lucky as it could have been worse."

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "A car has been seen driving erractically in the Nelson and Brierfield area and made off after a pursuit from police.

"A local police patrol has seen the car in Blackburn and has been pursued by police and got away.

"Then the vehicle has collided with another car on Whalley New Road.

"A man was arrested on obstruction the course of justice and failing to provide a sample.

"He has been released and is under investigation.

"One passenger in the car was injured but they are not believed to be serious."
