THE third series of Sky One’s hit TV show Brassic is being filmed in Lancashire.

Producers have set up base in Blackburn with filming being conducted across locations in the region.

Brassic is set in the fictional town of Hawley and follows the lives of Vinnie O’Neill (Joe Gilgun) and Erin Croft (Michelle Keegan).

It was hoped that Brassic season 3 could air on Sky One in 2021 but filming for the third season was affected by the lockdown. Once filming did get under way in September it was a stopped after a crew member showed symptoms of Covid-19. The cast and crew were told to self-isolate.

The team were back in Lancashire this month and are set to be in Blackburn until tomorrow.

Filming was completed in locations including Yew Tree Farm in Chorley.

Series 2 ended with Vinnie finally admitting his feelings for Erin (Michelle Keegan) before being apprehended by the police after raucous stag and hen do's and the theft of an entire wedding reception.

The second series launched with a seven-day cumulative audience of 1.51 million for the opening episode, with more than 800,000 viewers completing the box set within the first fortnight of the launch.

Jon Mountague, director of comedy, Sky Studios, said: “What a thrill to see record numbers of our customers enjoy Brassic in super quick time.

“It’s captured the imagination of fans, including England cricket vice-captain Ben Stokes, who tweeted his love for the show. The combination of brilliantly honest writing and an outstanding cast have left them hungry for more - roll on season 3!”
