BLACKBURN with Darwen residents can charge their electric cars in three new car parks.
Electric car chargers are now available at Blackburn Enterprise Centre, Blackburn Technology Management Centre and Eanam Wharf Business Centre The new sites join the existing charging points at Feilden Street Car Park, Darwen Market car park, Brown Street, Varley Street and Weir Street car parks.
There are currently over 100 electric cars in the borough and over 1,000 in surrounding areas.
The new charging stations are available for staff, tenants and customers at the business centres and can also be used by members of the public.
Parking is free whilst charging your vehicle for a maximum of 4 hours, the charging tariff is 25p/kWh.
Councillor Phil Riley, executive member for development, said: “This is a great move forward for a greener and more environmentally friendly future.
“Electric car use is increasing across Blackburn and Darwen and visitors can visit us knowing they can charge up wherever they go.”
