We have ten staff, Beccy Foster, Daniel Coyne, David Helmn, Jodie Smith, Josh Fitzsimmons, Leah Ballantyne, Miles Starkie, Orla McManamon and Sam Kelly.

Explain the history of the pub:

The converted Victorian warehouse has seen a multitude of purposes over the years, from being a salughterhouse, recently a Tile Warehouse, and finally finding its feet as the home for Spitfire and The Vault (the sister bar below).

Is food served? If yes what's on the menu?

Yes, we are very pleased to be partnered with Eddie's Woodfired Pizza, providing a dining experience unrivalled for miles around, with traditional Woodfired Neapolitan Pizza, but with an unexpected modern Flare.

Pizziola chefs tossing pizza bases up into the air, fresh dough made every day, homemade pizza sauce bring the authentic Italian aspect, the modern twist comes from the inventive pizzas, Cheeseburger Eddie, Chicken Kiev and Sloppy Guiseppi to name a few.

Is there a beer garden?

We have a sheltered outside seating area.

Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?

Yes and we cant wait to resume the leagues post-corona.

Our infamous beer towers have proved a huge hit.

Most memorable moment for the pub was:

Opening weekend was really special, also a special mention to our final night before lockdown.

Do you have an entertainment line up?

We have DJs at the weekend, singers downstairs in the Vault on Saturdays and are known to host the odd event on the carpark outside.

Have you faced any challenges within the industry?

Thee coronavirus lock down was a difficult period for everybody in the industry and having to constantly adapt to the new changed and guidelines has proved very challenging, although we are very proud of how we have developed to suit the current suituation, we are also extremely proud of our staff.

The best thing about running a pub is…

The relationships and interaction with customers and staff, we all work lots of long hours together and are a very close work family, and many of our regulars are extensions of that family.

The worst thing about running a pub is…

Currently it would be the struggles of working under covid guidance.

The perfect cure for a hangover is...

Re-hydrate before you go to bed and a Maccy's breakfast in the morning!
