FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of a trapped fawn after it became stuck in railings close to a canal.
The baby deer was discovered by concerned members of the public on Thursday afternoon who contacted their local fire service to lend a hand.
Crews from Blackburn and Penwortham attended to the baby deer, which was trapped closed to the canal off Tintagel Close in Feniscowles.
Spreading equipment was used to create a large enough space in the railings to release the animal.
A spokesman said: “Two fire engines from Blackburn and Penwortham attended the canal off Tintagel Close in Feniscowles, Blackburn, where a baby deer was stuck in railings. Firefighters used spreading equipment to release the animal.”
