THE parents of a 25-year-old man who went missing more than four years ago have spoken of their heartbreak in a TV police appeal.
BBC One's Crimewatch Roadshow Live programme has covered the case of Michael Martin, who went missing more than four years ago in Kearsley and has never been seen since.
The show explained that Michael, from Salford, was in a car with a friend on Sunday, August 7, 2016 when the vehicle stopped in the middle of a road.
His friend had grabbed the steering wheel before the car came to a halt.
CCTV footage captured the two men arguing, which police believe may have been over a missing large amount of money that Michael – who was wearing one shoe – had collected the night before.
They both appeared to be looking through the car, seemingly for the cash.
Michael, who suffered with depression and anxiety and was known to be vulnerable, was led to getting involved in crime.

The key had been broken inside the ignition but the pair managed to jumpstart the car and his friend drove it to an Esso garage on Bolton Road.
Video showed a very agitated Michael walking into the petrol station forecourt at around 7.30am and then calling his friend, who was looking for tools to fix the car, to come out of the shop.
But instead of getting into the car Michael, still wearing one shoe, ran off across the road towards Jackson Street and then on an alleyway known as Back Bolton Road, where he was last caught on camera.

Michael has never contacted his parents again, accessed his bank accounts or been seen or heard from again.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) detective superintendent Lewis Hughes said: "We believe that somebody has harmed Michael, killed him and we believe that his body has actually been disposed of.
"I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen Michael after this last known sighting or to anyone in the community who has heard rumours about what may happened to him.
"I believe there are people out there who know exactly what happened to Michael and who is responsible and yet even in all this time they have not come forward.
"I am appealing to anyone out there who knows information to come forward and do the right thing, particularly Michael's group of friends, who I believe have the answers.
"We really want to find Michael's body so we can return him to his family who are understandably devastated and desperate to give him a proper funeral."
GMP is offering £10,000 for information that would lead to the arrests and convictions of Michael's killers.
Michael's parents have expressed their heartbreak over their missing son.

Michael's mum Karen Williams, who was "very proud" to call "loving" Michael her son, said: "Michael's not alive and it kills me to say that.
"We know people know and yet they are keeping quiet. I don't know how they can live with themselves.
"It's a nightmare every day.
"It doesn't get any easier as time passes.
"I'm just hoping that somebody has a heart and says something to give us some information to try and find him and get him home.
"That's all I want – we just want him home."
Michael's dad George added: "It's like living in limbo basically because we haven't got any answers so we are just going over and over what could have happened.
"It it like a living hell."
