THE latest cases involving defendants from the borough, dealt with by the courts in Greater Manchester, includes:

* A MAN who smashed a kitchen window has been fined £80 by Manchester magistrates.

Suleman Khan, aged 26, of East Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to damaging the property in Heyside Way, Bury on May 5,

Khan was also ordered to pay £119 in costs and charges and is banned from going to the address again.

* A CONDITIONAL discharge for 12 months has been given to Rhys Fletcher, aged 28, of Regent Street, Bury, by magistrates. He admitted damaging a wall and wardrobe on May 5 and must pay £110 compensation.

* A THIEF has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he admitted stealing cleaning products from Tesco in Bury on July 30.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Sohail Ahmed, aged 25, of Greenside Chase, Bury, was also ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge.

* MAGISTRATES have fined a man £220 after he was caught not wearing a seat belt whilst driving a VW Golf on Hornby Street, Bury, on September 17, last year.

Hamza Zeb, aged 21, of Cateaton Street, Bury, denied committing the offence but failed to turn up for the hearing and the case against him was proved.

He must also pay £182 in costs and charges.
