HYNDBURN Council have announced that over the past few weeks 3,400 people across the borough have come forwards for coronavirus testing.
The borough’s testing centre can be found at Mercer Hall, Queen Street, Great Harwood, with the previous centre outside Accrington Town Hall now closed.
Councillor Miles Parkinson OBE, leader of Hyndburn Council, welcomed the strong uptake of testing from the community.
He said: “Over the last three weeks we have had over 3,400 individuals come and be tested.
“A huge thank you to everyone who is participating.
“Take care, not just of yourself, but of the rest of the community by adhering to the guidance.”
The council has also reiterated its advice for residents to continue washing their hands, covering their faces and to remain alter.
The test site is open seven days a week, 10am – 2:45pm.
Appointments are not necessary but the service is facing high demand and attendees will have to queue.
