A THUG who spat at police officers as they tried to arrest him has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Manchester magistrates heard how Damar Nield, aged 21, of Melville Street, Bolton was in Rochdale on June 26 when the offences took place.
Nield pleaded guilty to assaulting the two officers and also admitted assaulting a woman and possessing cannabis.
He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay each of his victims £50 in compensation.
In addition he must participate in five days of rehabilitation activities as well as being supervised by the probation service for 12 months and pay £203 in costs and charges.
