A Slimming World group is being relaunched in Farnworth on Saturday September 12 and will be hosted by a consultant who underwent her training in lockdown.

Selina Cropper, a management accountant from Farnworth, lost three stone in 2004, she's remained a member ever since and decided to train as a consultant.

She had to complete her training on Zoom but she is is excited to host the group at the Trinity Methodist Church on Market Street.

Selina said: ""I have been a member since 2003 and I set a target weight of nine stone, I lost three stone by 2004 but remianed being a member as my weight has gone up and down since then.

"I decided to become a consultant as I really enjoy being a member, but then coronavirus hit so I had to do my training via Zoom.

"It was very challenging and I had a lot of work to do, you also miss out on visiting head office but hopefully I will be able to do that soon.

"The other consultants have been very supportive and I'm really excited about hosting, although I am a little bit nervous.

"The atmosphere is really friendly, if you're thinking of joining and wondered about losing weight, I would say just go for it.

"There will be several groups on that first Saturday at 8.30am, 9.30am and 10.30am, and anyone is welcome."
