There have been 10 more cases of coronavirus in Bolton today.

A total number of 2,289 people in the borough have tested positive for covid-19 - a cumulative infection rate of 796 cases per 100,000 of the population.

Yesterday the number of new cases rose to 24 and on Thursday 11 people tested positive for the virus.

Across the UK a further 1,108 people are confirmed to have the virus, bringing the total number of cases of coronavirus to 332,752.

There have been 12 deaths due to the virus in the UK, meaning a total of 41,498 people have lost their lives to the disease.

However, the number of deaths at Royal Bolton Hospital remains unchanged, with the last death being recorded on August 22. In total 231people have succumbed to the virus in the hospital.
