AMAZON has made a £1,000 donation to a domestic abuse charity as part of its community programme.

Fortalice works with victims and their children who are affected by domestic abuse and violence. The charity offers frontline services including a 24-hour helpline, advocacy work, training and a refuge for women and children.

The donation will go towards laptops for the families and children.

Nicolas Verdon, site leader at Amazon in Bolton, said: “The staff and volunteers at Fortalice work hard to ensure people are safe and free from violence. We are pleased to support their efforts with this donation and hope it helps them continue their great work.”

Gill Smallwood, chief executive of Fortalice, said: “We are so grateful to receive Amazon’s donation, this helps us to support adults and their children of domestic abuse, particularly during covid-19 where funds are diminishing. The funding will help us meet the needs of victims who desperately need the service - huge thanks to Amazon.”
