Lancashire hospital records first coronavirus death in a month
A LANCASHIRE hospital has reported its first coronavirus death in a month, figures show.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, which is responsible for both the Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley Hospital, reported the death to Public Health England in figures revealed on Tuesday.
The death happened on July 29, with the reporting of deaths regularly delayed owing to individual circumstances or reporting methods. The latest death brings the hospital’s total death toll to 250.
There were no deaths in any of Lancashire’s other hospitals, including East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which operates the Royal Blackburn. The trust has reported 205 deaths, two of which were reported last week.
