SAINTS Welsh flier Regan Grace could not contain his delight at grabbing his first try since last September - so much so that his confidence and the spring in his step grew, contributing to two more top scores right of the top drawer of wingman's play.

Footwork, change of pace, spatial awareness, athleticism and sheer speed saw the 23-year-old Wales international grab a sensational hat-trick which have had the pundits asking whether this was the best ever Super League treble.

Amazing Grace's lethal finishing certainly caught the eye beyond St Helens - with Wales Online carrying a piece quoting the demand from union fans to "bring him home".

All three of his treble featured in the Super League try of the week from the weekend. And no wonder.

After the game a beaming Grace declared: "I have been dying to get over the line this season, I think the patience has paid off.

"Before the first, I had had a couple of close ones in the corner - but I was just happy to get over for that first one.

"That was the best - the first of the season. That is my job - scoring tries, so I was just happy to get on the scoreboard.

"I just looked for some space and then attacked it."

His first and third were long range efforts, the middle one needed Grace's athleticism and ability to fly in at a tight corner, polishing off with a one handed finish.

"Jonny (Lomax) called for it. He knew it was on and he did his job of creating some space outside of my man then it was up to me to finish," he said, making it sound so simple.

Bernard Platt captured all three of the tries from start to finish....and have a flick through to see how he scored them and his reaction afterwards.

Lachlan Coote caught the high ball inside his own 10m and immediately shovelled it on to Grace who used footwork to cut inside the first man, with speed taking him to the half way where he encountered the next line of defenders.

There he went inside the one on the left, then veered away from the cover on his right and then won the foot race to the line with defender number three.

His second saw him fly in at the corner after a smart bit of passing from Theo Fages and Jonny Lomax.

A wriggle of the hips saw him shake off the advancing defender before bisecting two tired Leeds bodies on the 20....From there it was just an 80m sprint to the line and another lethal finish from the Welshman.
